Kenadie has found her voice....After her Doctors appt on Thursday and she recieved her 2 months shots, I think she realized that she does have a voice and she uses it. It was so sad to see her get her shots 3 of them. It made me want to cry along with her. The next couple of days were a little yucky she was feverish and her o2 sats were everywhere but I think that is due to a falty machine. I had to call Dr Brown's office to ask him what I should worry about, I have no idea I have never done the mommy thing. I barely made it through the phone call without crying. LOL. Things today are good, she is still as cute as ever and I want to take her everywhere to show her off but I make myself be house bound I am not going to expose her to everthing and have her get sick so soon.....Snug as a bug
Machine for sale, works great....NOT!
You would think that if you payed $700 a month for this
machine it would be great.
It goes off every little movement and it is driving me
insane! She is low 70's and the next second she is high 90's I don't think so!!!! I have gotten so I only use it when she sleeps and then
just watch her closely in the day.

We are all soooooo tired!
Our first days home have been really fun, busy and I am tired! :) The first night she did really well and then last night is another story, I think I got a total of 2 hours of sleep, she didn't want to go to bed for nothing and when I would go lay her down she would moan and move around and that would set of the oxygen meter machine-kind of annoying.....I never know if it is reading it right or if it is just making up a number I don't understand how she can be low 80's and the next second high 90's. I still havn't heard the full loud cry yet she is such a good baby that way I sometimes wonder if she can cry.

Had a photo session with her already, I love this picture!
First bath at home! She wasn't so sure about it.
Isn't she so cute!!!!

A bitter~sweet day! Today after 79 days in a NICU setting,
Kenadie was released to come home. It was a very tearful
moment for me when the nurses all said goodbye and
that they were going to miss seeing her there,
I too, will miss them and the friendships we made.
Our little sweetheart all bundled up ready to get out of there.
Dad trying to get her situated in the car.

Kenadie enjoying the ride home, I think I was more nervous than anything.!
I just want to thank the many wonderful nurses at LRH.  Everyone of them had something to offer and we grew to love and enjoy all of them and the time that we spent there.

Now the fun begins :) !!!

DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL
PROUD DADDY!

On the wall in Kenadie's room there is a saying that says "cherish the SMALL things in life" We truly have enjoyed this little bundle that has come into and blessed our lifes.
Today the NG tube that has been feeding Kenadie was removed and she looks so much better without that in her nose, the only thing left is the oxygen and we know we will be coming home with that. The time for her coming home is close at hand, and I am a little nervous but very excited to become a "full time" mommy instead of a drop in visitor at the NICU. This little girl has brought so much love and joy into my life, I don't know how I ever lived without her.

It is amazing what a little blood will do to such a little girl, when I went back up yesterday at 6:00pm they had just finished the blood transfusion and Kenadie's checks were already pink and she looked tons better, I got her out to feed her at 7:00 and she did awesome, it was like she couldn't get enough, she was a new little girl from that morning, she had so much energy and was so much more alert. Today she took her first feeding at 7:00 am with no problem and the Dr wanted to see how she would do with trying to oral feed all of the 8 feedings as of tonight she was taking every one of them (5 feedings) by mouth with out any problems at all. They left the IV in her head just in case they need to give her more blood, they are doing blood work in the morning.

Today Kenadie had blood work done again because she was still looking very pale and so they decided to do blood work today instead of waiting for the weekend. Her hemoglobin was 7 which was low, (it was 10 last week) so this afternoon Kenadie is getting another blood transfusion, I couldn't stay to watch them put the IV in I had to leave, I went back 1/2 hour later and they said they got it the second time, they tried the hand first and that didn't work so she they ended up putting it in her head.
Dr Brown has increased her feedings to 50 ml every 3 hours and we are bottle feeding every other feeding, so we are (hopefully) halfway to being able to come home. I am hoping with this blood that she will get some energy to start bottle feeding more without getting tired.
Kenadie weighs 5 pounds 8 ounces.
