Everywhere I go and turn people are always saying that Kenadie is in their prayers and I know that is why she is doing as well and blessed as much as she is. I get so touched when people tell me that their children (who don't even know us) are praying for her, it just brings tears to my eyes and I know that Heavenly Father loves the little children and pays really close attention to them. Thanks to everyone of you that has helped us along the way and has offered prayers in our behalf as we have seen them work and have felt very comforted by them all. We love you!

The Blessings just keep coming.......Kenadie's Dr read in her history that she has had this murmur since birth but it is the type of murmur that closes all on its on, at birth it was a 3 mm hole between 2 chambers and at the end of July it was 2mm in size and so that is why you can hear it some days and other days you cant, the Dr said it is so small and almost closed up, he was very happy with the information that he found out. Kenadie also had her 4th eye exam Thursday night and she is completely vascularized and there is no sign of any ROP, he wants to do a follow up exam in 2 months just for safety purposes.

So when there is nothing new to report, I have learned that you should just keep your mouth shut! The Dr. told me that he heard a murmur in her heart this morning, he didn't hear it yesterday and he just discovered it this morning. Our regular Dr is out on vacation for a week so we have another Dr covering for him. He said it is very small and quite but something he wants to follow up on, he said he wants to do an ekg sometime just to see what is going on. They are also checking her hemoglobin tomorrow because she has been looking a little pale. She hit the five pound mark tonight, she weighs 5 pounds 0.1 ounce.
Today I got to breastfeed for the first time, exciting for both of us. Kenadie did an excellent job and I think she got more milk than she is used to in a feeding, she was like a person at Thanksgiving, moaning because she ate to much. The Dr said I can breastfeed once a day and then bottle feed 3 more times so every other feeding she is resting. That means we are half way there to coming home and it only took her a week and a half to get there. So maybe if she continues down the same path she will be able to come home in a week or two. I hope it is soon because it is getting so hard, I left the hospital crying tonight because I just couldn't leave her there! I was holding her and then went to put her in the bed and she started crying so I picked her back up and held her to my chest and cried, the nurse came in and I felt so embarrassed. I held her until she was sound, then kissed her little head and put her to bed.

Kenadie's new curly Q not my favorite!
She didn't have it for long!
Kenadie soaking in her own little "Hot Tub"
Not much new is going on with Kenadie still trying to get her to be able to drink her bottles with out getting to tired and giving up, the dr is allowing 3 bottle feeds a day. She does really well in the morning and after her baths because she is so wide awake. The nurses have a harder time getting her to drink them, she only drinks 1/2 of the bottle for them and I can get her to drink the whole bottle (45ml).
She is starting to be more alert and the nurses say she is sporting an attitude. It is getting
harder for me to leave when she is awake and laying in bed, I just want to pick her up and love her but I don't want to tire her out, she needs her rest.
She is up to 4 pounds 15.7 ounces.

I started back to work full time this week and boy has it been a killer! I go see Kenadie at 6:45 every morning and then to work at 7:30 and then at lunch I run over for a few minutes and then at 6:00 when I get off I go over until 8:30ish and then head home. It is nice having her so close. This morning I went and got to feed her again and she drank the whole bottle 42 ml of milk with out any problem, she did awesome! Dr Brown has said that we can now feed her 3 bottles a day because she is doing so great with the suck, swallow, breath.
Kenadie also had her eyes checked again today, the eye doctor said "we are not out of the woods yet, but you can see the sunshine" He wants to check them again in 2-3 weeks just to make sure that there isn't any problems. The nurse said she did great the only time she cried is when she put the drops in her eyes to dilate them. She didn't even peep when he clamped her eyes open to look.
Kenadie is up to 4 pounds 10.8 ounces.

Thursday night I got to give Kenadie the "first" bottle feeding, she did really good for the first few minutes, she didn't have any problems then she kind of dosed of and forgot what she was doing and choked on it, her sats and heart rate dropped but the nurse said that was normal not to worry, we tried it again a few minutes later and she just wasn't up to, so we quit, she got 3 ml of milk is all. Today when I went up to visit the nurse said she just finished feeding her and she drank the whole 1 1/2 ounce from the bottle with out any problems, she did really good and she new that she had to suck, breath, swallow. Dr Brown was really impressed and said if the mom wants to feed her later let her bottle feed her again. Another step up the ladder to being able to come home! She is up to 4 pounds 3 ounces

Kenadie is doing awesome, Dr Brown stopped the caffeine she was getting because he thought it was contributing to the reflux and she was old enough that she didn't need it any more and she has done wonderful without it. She hasn't had any d-Sat's or spitting up. He also changed her feedings to feed over 2 hour period and rest for 1 hour, he said that we can start to try to feed her once a day with a bottle. She is up to 4 pounds 1.1 ounce

Last night when I went to see Kenadie I got to give her a bath for the first time, I was so scarred but I did it. Washing her hair made me really nervous, I held her in the football hold and put her head under the sink, I was so afraid I was going to drop her. I made it through....yea for me! The nurse did her hair and then we wrapped her up and I had some good quality time with my bundle of joy. I love every minute that I get spending with her. Everyone up there comments on the spelling of her name and the amount of hair she has and what a little doll she is. I am so blessed to have such a cutie. She has the sweetest personality already. I can't seem to get enough of her!

Kenadie is doing a lot better with the reflux, the Dr. decided to give her reglan along with the zantac, he also has reduced the caffeine to half a dose. She weighs 3 pounds 13 ounces and is 16 1/2 inches long. This morning when I was up visiting with her and I was sitting in the rocking chair holding her, I told her I was going to go and that I would be back later, she got the biggest frown on her face and started pouting a little, I said don't do that you make mommy feel bad and she smiled and squinted her eyes. I know it was all gas but it was just to fitting. She has me wrapped around her little finger already! I love being so close to her and being able to go see her when ever I want.

Kenadie came to Logan on Wednesday at 8 pm. I was so excited when Mckay called and said do you want your baby up closer to you, I was like heck ya! It is so much fun to have her just right down the hall from were I work and be able to go over and see her in a matter of minutes instead of an hour drive. They are so much more hands on up here they try to get the parents involved with everything. Today when I went over she was all dolled up with her hair done and a cute yellow outfit on. I have to say she is the cutest baby ever but again I am the proud mom. Kenadie is having her feedings continuous over 3 hours, reflux is getting the best of her and they are trying everything they can to help her be comfortable, they say preemies get that and it is something she will outgrow. She weighs in at 3 pounds 9 ounces and is starting to look more like a baby.

This binky is almost as big as her head!
Kenadie is out of the isolate and in a regular bassinet. She has had a little reflux going on so they are elevating her head a little. She had her 2nd eye exam today and the Dr. said she doesn't have any sign of ROP and her chance of getting it at this point would be 15%, they will recheck them again in 2 wks. She is up to 3 pounds 7 ounces and growing like a weed.
